Mark sang his first solo aged five in Sunday School and no-one’s been able to get him off stage since. Mark has played everything from male lead to pantomime Dame and has even been a dancing elephant.
His roles on stage include Fred Graham/Petruchio in Kiss Me Kate; Horton in Seussical and other roles include Frank in Up ‘n’ Under where he won the Best Actor award in the Leicestershire Theatre Festival.
After a twenty year career in financial services, Mark is now a full time poet and the official Milton Keynes’ Poet Laureate. Mark started writing for local theatre groups, his plays and sketches quickly finding an audience. Mark won the Daffodil One Page Play Awards and as a poet, has appeared on BBC Radio 2 and 4 and regular contributes to BBC 3 Counties radio.
Mark reached the 2013 New Act of the Year competition final and he will make his debut at the Edinburgh Fringe in August. You can find out more about him at his website: www.akickinthearts.co.uk
Mark loves singing with Heart and Music for the fun and camaraderie. He looks forward to future concerts and teasing the sopranos (if the altos feel left out, he’ll tease them as well).
